About Us

Why Harmony Day Support

Our Mission

The mission of Harmony Day support is to provide individualized support to adults and adolescents with various levels of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. Promoting harmony and balance in their daily lives.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to provide care and support to all individuals in our service. We encourage them to live their best and most independent lives. We desire the outcomes for our programming to propel the individual toward success within the community.

Our Values

As we work to achieve our mission and fulfill our vision, Harmony Day Support places strong value on creating a culture of inclusion, safety, independence, personal growth, and participation in the community. We are proud of our dedicated staff who are passionate about serving others by implementing these principles in their work.

  • Inclusion and acceptance are the fundamental principles upon which we have built our organization. We strive to promote a sense of belonging and community. These concepts encourage individuals to embrace diversity and to recognize the value each person brings to a group.

Inclusion ensures everyone feels welcomed and valued, irrespective of their background, abilities, or identity.

  • We understand the importance of instilling safety awareness in the lives of our individuals. Exploitation, personal welfare, and navigating health obstacles can present a variety of challenges.

To combat these concerns, Harmony has prioritized safety by means of specialized staff-training, therapeutic interventions, and an on-site advocacy specialist; providing expert knowledge and safety awareness for all.

  • Independence is essential for personal growth and success. It allows individuals to take control of their lives, make value-aligned decisions, and set clear goals. Achieving these goals requires vision, perseverance, resilience, and confidence. By fostering independence, individuals can overcome challenges and celebrate achievements, leading to a fulfilling, self-directed life.

  • Personal growth can be achieved through goal-setting and interpersonal relationships. This shapes who we are and how we connect with others.

Embracing our strengths and acknowledging our vulnerabilities, the individuals can foster new avenues of development; socially, emotionally, and mentally. Personal development can assist the individuals in fostering healthy relationships and boundaries with others and themselves.

  • We are continuously looking for new ways to explore what the greater Lynchburg area has to offer. Through client-centered activities and outings, we are able to navigate the community around us; making life more accessible to the individuals we serve. Through this they are able to discover new life-skills and build relationships with others in our community.
